EPDM O-rings are widely used as they have characteristics of environmental resistance and long life.

An EPDM gasket is therefore considered a quality gasket.

In particular, we want to underline and motivate the choice that COMER S.p.A. has made about the gaskets mounted on the industrial series ball valves.

COMER S.p.A. adopts EPDM gaskets with peroxide polymerization for the industrial series ball valves.

This type of treatment gives outstanding characteristics to the EPDM O-rings as they have a greater resistance to high temperatures (-45 ° C / + 150 ° C) and high resistance to deformation.

Furthermore, the peroxide treatment makes these EPDM gaskets resistant to a wide range of conditions such as alcohols, ketones, hot water and steam.

Finally, when the EPDM is treated with peroxide polymerization it does not stain the PVC.

We can therefore summarize the characteristics that the peroxide polymerization process gives to EPDM gaskets:

• Improved chemical resistance

  • High-temperature resistance
  • High-resistance to deformation
  • Does not stain PVC
  • High-resistance to aging
